It is with great pride and satisfaction that I extend my congratulations to SMMCA on its remarkable 32-year journey. With the Women’s Education Society at its helm, the institution is dedicated to offering professional architecture education to young women. What began as a dynamic young department of LAD and Smt. R.P. College for Women, in 1993, has flourished into a full-fledged College of Architecture since 2008. Since its inception, the institution has always thrived in empowering women through education.

The institution continuously endeavours to nurture students’ creative and scientific acumen in nation-building. We believe architecture is a field wherein our traditional knowledge systems can be applied in contemporary ways without compromising societal needs.

This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the collective effort of all stakeholders: our dedicated teachers, bright students, innovative curriculum design, and invaluable industry involvement. SMMCA’s core energy and enthusiasm will help it achieve remarkable feats

Greetings!!

What began as a humble seed 32 years ago has now grown into a thriving Institution!

Welcome to SMMCA, where you will find young, enthusiastic, talented, and eager-to-explore aspiring women architects discovering the professional field of architecture. As it is said, architecture cannot be taught within the four walls of the studios; here, most of the teaching occurs outside the studios, during study tours, on construction sites, in workshops, in fields, and society. SMMCA believes and emphasized in experiential learning. Students are continuously engaged in experimentation and self-learning through various student clubs, extracurricular, and co-curricular activities.

We are committed to enhancing the creative acumen of the students through their thinking, ideation, and application. It’s fun to learn and understand architecture here.

We ensure the holistic development of our students by exposing them to real-time issues in society. SMMCA strives hard to foster in students a keen understanding and compassionate response to societal changes.

We are very grateful to have the Women’s Education Society as our parent body, ever ready to encourage every endeavour of ours. WES has been continuously working towards women’s empowerment through education for more than 90 years.
