Ministry of Education, Govt. of India has established an ‘Innovation cell’ with a purpose of systematically fostering the culture of Innovation in all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across the country.
SMMCA is now a proud member of Ministry of the Education’s Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC). SMMCA is one of the very few architecture Colleges of the country to become a member of the council.
The constitution of the IIC at SMMCA was formed and approved as under:
Competition cum Industry- experience (A joint venture Spacewood at SMMCA)
Aim: To explore the new technologies of furniture manufacturing.
Students of Semester VII Visited the Spacewood Factory at Butibori on 15th October 2022. The agenda for the visit was to consciously see the new machines for manufacturing of furniture. Students interacted with the staff of Spacewood and understood the nuances of machine manufacturing.
A collaboration for the competition was announced with Spacewood. As a collaboration activity, students of SMMCA will be providing a solution to a furniture design challenge drafted by Spacewood office solutions, Butiburi.

Participation in IIC Regional Meet at G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur
Dr. Roopal Deshpande, Dr. Sujata Godbole, Dr. Seema Burele and Ar. Renuka Chutke Chakradeo participated in IIC’s Regional Meet held at G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur on 29th July 2022. SMMCA participated in poster presentation and was awarded the best creative poster at the regional meet.
Smt Manoramabai Mundle College of Architecture offers a five year degree course in Architecture (B.Arch), two year post graduate course (M.Arch in Architecture Education and Urban Planning) and Ph.D. in architecture.
